My first Blog

I did it!!! I finally found a name for my blog and started a blog. I initially wanted to start with a name that included the word blessed and came across so many names that were suggested and that I liked only to come across a message that said "this blog address is not available". So after countless tries of names that were unavailable I finally came up with thisblessingisavailable and it was. YES!!!!! Well I guess my whole purpose of starting a blog was inspired from so many areas. From friends, family and from reading blogs but my main reason was because of a desire that was put on my heart and just wanting to record the progress of it. I have come across so many stories, movies, pictures of people that have experienced tragic events or who were in horrible situations. If only there had been someone there to help or intervene in that situation to give it a different outcome and I found myself feeling like i wanted to contribute but didn't know how. As the wheels in my head began to turn I asked myself the question on How could I bless someone or how could I help someone or be a blessing to someone. Months had past and yet I still had not done a thing.Within those months I had come across many articles and stories of just people helping people and blessings others so I thought little things I can do. In the month of October my pastor began a sermon on"Live like you were dying". He focused on that for the entire month. So in that month I began to bless a few people and started . so I thought why not use those same concepts and bless someone for 30 days. Place the focus where God wants and that is on others. So for 30 days I plan on blessing someone, in some way for 30 days and just blog about it. I actually started my 30 days of blessing 2 days ago. So my 1st day I blessed the only person I could think of blessing at that moment and that was my sister. I bought her some lunch. I realize that is something small and not really blessing someone out in the public but I needed to start somewhere. The 2nd day I decided to bless someone that I come encounter with on a daily basis. An employee from outside my work place who for some reason never feels like politeness is necessary. So that day I actually found her being polite and decided to jump on that and send her a note letting her know how much I appreciated her. She did not reply but I hope she was blessed by it. Today was the 3rd day and was the day that I started my blog and really did not have much time to do too much so I decided to make a quick phone call and give a kind word and let someone know how special they were to me. I think finding some way to bless someone everyday may not be as easy as I initially thought but I enjoy blessing others so I may just repeat the same things if I feel like I may be getting blessers block. You know like writers block.

  1. Isabel, what a wonderful idea you have! If EVERYONE "blessed" someone at least once a day, this world would be such a better place. When you are having a bad day and someone says something nice to you or does something nice for you, your bad day suddenly is brightened. :)

During the Lent season, I try to do something nice for someone everyday. I encourage the girls to do the same, and I tell them that it could be something as simple as bringing in a cart (from the parking lot) inside the store. It's one less cart someone has to bring inside.

Well, I am really looking forward to reading your post, so happy blogging to you! I will be waiting to read your stories. :)
